The Celebration of Life Service for the late Gerry Egland of Eastend will be held on Monday, June 16th at 2:00 p.m. from Eastend Memorial Hall in Eastend. Interment for the late Gerry Egland will take place at Riverside Cemetery at Eastend. Binkley’s Funeral Service of Shaunavon is in charge of the arrangements. It is with sadness that the family of Morgan Jones, age 55, announce his passing on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Vancouver, BC.

Morgan Allen Jones was born on June 30, 1969 and was raised in Swift Current, SK. His parents were Marguerite Rittinger & Vernon Jones.

Morgan was predeceased by his parents, Marguerite & Vernon. He is survived by his brother, Kevin (Tracey) Jones; his nieces, Dakotah Jones and Jordyn Jones; a great-nephew, Masyn Jackson; Uncle Herb (Margie) Leroy, and Aunt Katie (Ted) Shoemaker, and their families.

Kenneth Mervyn Vicars

Peacefully on June 6, 2025, Kenneth “Ken” Vicars passed away with his daughter by his side at Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 96 years.

Darryl Bryan Gervais
1952 – 2025

Darryl Gervais, late of Estevan, SK passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Estevan, SK at the age of 72 years, with his wife and daughter Wanita by his side.
The Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of God with Pastor John Mohan presiding. The family invites everyone to the luncheon in the Church of God social hall following the service. The interment will take place at Souris Valley Memorial Gardens.

In Loving Memory of Melvin Joseph Prickett
October 21, 1932 – June 6, 2025

Melvin Joseph Prickett passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at Humboldt Hospital, at the age of 92.

Born October 21, 1932, in Wilkie, Saskatchewan, Mel was the beloved son of May and Ferrel Prickett. He got his journeyman mechanics certificate and worked at Scotties Service Station in Saskatoon. He eventually purchased the service station and ran it for a few years before he purchased another service station and ran that till his retirement in 1977.

Gordon Kornelson, 80, of Mitchell passed away Saturday, June 7th at St. Boniface Hospital. He is survived by his wife Becky, 2 daughters, 1 son, and their families.  
A private funeral service and burial for Gordon Kornelson will be held.

Roy Andrew Lyall

Peacefully with his family by his side, Roy Lyall passed away on May 28, 2025, at the Lions Prairie Manor at the age of 103 years.

Doreen Orvis, 91 of Winnipeg formerly of Lac du Bonnet, passed away Thursday, May 29th at Grace Hospice. She is survived by 1 daughter, 1 son, 1 brother, and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander, 1 daughter, 1 son, 1 daughter-in-law, 3 granddaughters, and 1 grandson. 
A memorial service for Doreen Orvis will be held Monday, June 9th at 1pm at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, with private ash interment at a later date in Lac du Bonnet.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gladys Nelson on June 4, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on November 2, 1940, in beautiful Rainy Lake, Ontario, Gladys lived a life rooted in kindness, dedication, and quiet strength.

March 30, 1943 – April 24, 2025 Farmer. Inventor. Fixer of Everything. Proud Husband and Dad. Age 82. Marcel Avila Chabot was born on a cold Tuesday, March 30, 1943, in Ponteix, Saskatchewan—likely with a wrench in one hand and an idea in the other. The third born, the first son to Antonio and Therese Chabot.
