The lack of sunshine didn’t stop the festivities at Saturday’s Gardenton Ukrainian Multicultural Festival.
The 165-year-old festival kicked off with a worship service and a tour of the St. Michaels Church, one of the oldest Ukrainian churches in Canada.
It was followed by a lineup of entertaining performances by Irish, African and Ukrainian dance and musical groups.

The Gardenton Ukrainian Multicultural Festival is on Saturday, July 15, and it kicks off with a church service at 10:30 AM and a tour of St. Michael’s Church tour at 11 AM.
President Kelvin Chubaty says this has been an annual festival since 1965, and “anybody is welcome to the event.”
