Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony announces return as bankruptcy is annulled
Just over a year after one of Canada’s longest-standing orchestra was silenced by bankruptcy, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony announced its return to the stage this week.
In a Facebook post, the symphony shared that its bankruptcy had been officially annulled, and that they would return to present concerts again as soon as the end of this year.

Forever Bicycles returns to The Forks
A popular public art piece has returned to the Forks and it will remain there for there for at least a decade.
Forever Bicycles, created by Chinese contemporary artist, Ai Weiwei and previously on display at the Forks from 2019 to 2022, will be on loan to the Forks for the next 10 years as part of the Gallery's National Engagement initiative.
Foreign affairs minister seeks support for plan to return deported Ukrainian children
Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly says she hopes countries from around the world will support a plan to bring back Ukrainian children who have been deported to Russia since the war in Ukraine began nearly three years ago.
Joly urged more than 70 delegations attending a ministerial conference in Montreal on Wednesday to make a “strong pledge” to ensure children and other Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war are returned home.

Prairie Theatre Exchange introduces new artistic director
The Prairie Theatre Exchange is welcoming a new artistic director.
Ann Hodges, whose career with the PTE spans three decades, including as an artistic associate from 2014-2015, says she is thrilled to join the team.
"My first job at PTE was as a student selling subscriptions over three decades ago, and I've always considered PTE my artistic home," said Hodges.
During her time with PTE, Hodges also served as a teacher, marketing assistant and student. She also directed 16 shows.

This year's theme is Rhinestone Rodeo. Guests are invited to dress up as a cowboy and cowgirl in glitter, so to speak.
PM says he's trying to get Poilievre names of Tories linked to foreign interference
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has asked national security services to find a way to share information with Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre about foreign interference affecting his caucus, he said Wednesday.
Earlier this month, Trudeau told a public inquiry that he has been given the names of past and present Conservative parliamentarians and candidates who are linked to foreign interference.
Trudeau said members from other parties, including the Liberals, have also been flagged.
Mother of teen victim in mass killing suing Manitoba's child welfare agency
The mother of a 17-year-old victim in a mass slaying in Manitoba is suing a child welfare agency for allegedly failing to protect the girl.
Juliette Hastings claims in the lawsuit that Winnipeg Child and Family Services, the General Child and Family Services Authority and the director of Child and Family Services were "reckless, careless and negligent in their statutory duty" to her daughter, Myah-Lee Gratton.
The lawsuit was filed Monday in Court of King's Bench. A statement of defence has not yet been filed and the allegations have not been tested in court.
