RCMP investigating after Winnipeg woman killed in crash near Gimli
A Monday evening collision claimed the life of a Winnipeg woman on Monday.
Just before 5 p.m. on July 21, Gimli RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway 326, at the intersection of Highway 329, in the Rural Municipality of Bifrost.
When officers arrived on the scene, two vehicles were in the ditch, southwest of the intersection.
Following the investigation, it was revealed a pickup truck was going south on Highway 326 when a westbound sedan crossed through the intersection and was hit by the pickup truck.
Week long overnight closures coming to Abinojii Mikanah and St. Mary’s Road
Several overnight closures are coming to the intersection of Abinojii Mikinah and St. Mary’s Road starting Tuesday.
The closures are in place to allow overnight paving operations at the intersection. Traffic impacts are as follows:

Manitoba Corrections Officer accused of sexually assaulting two inmates
A Corrections Officer has been arrested following allegations of sexually assaulting two men in Manitoba.
On July 16, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Sex Crimes Unit arrested a Corrections Officer after receiving separate reports about two adult men who were incarcerated and receiving medical treatment at a Winnipeg hospital when the assaults occurred.
The first man was receiving medical treatment at a hospital overnight in December 2024, under the guard of two correctional officers.

Section of Highway 1 reopened after crash near Brandon
Update:
Highway 1, eastbound lanes at three kilometres east of Highway 468, have now reopened.
The closure was due to a motor vehicle collision.
Previously:
A section of Highway 1 is closed Tuesday morning following a collision.
The crash has shut down the eastbound lanes of Highway 1, three kilometres east of Highway 468, which is located northeast of Brandon.
There is no word on injuries or how long the closure will last.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and find another route.
