Summer is in season with beautiful garden tours

The 2nd annual Holiday Avenue Project Garden Tour had another great year with amazing landscapes and gardens.  

Co-chair of the event, Byrna McDermid, says she was happy with the turnout for the event since the tickets sold out, as well as great support from the community in their new addition this year; the garden-themed yard sale.  

Community comes together for MS Fundraiser

Despite some early morning showers, there was lots of support from Portage la Prairie for the barbeque fundraiser hosted by the Barry Green family at Fountain Tire over the weekend.

Proceeds from the barbeque went to MS Canada to help with research and cures for patients. At the event, there was live music, a silent auction with great prizes, and a bake table filled with goodies.

Great Entertainment for Carman’s 144 Country Fair

It has been a blast in Carman this week with the fair starting on Thursday. It goes until Saturday this weekend, but Project Patio was down in Carman soaking up the sun at the fair on Friday. Although Carman is not a big city, that did not stop them from putting on a great event for people all over Manitoba to enjoy. There were many vendors there selling various things for people to look at, and what gave the fair a different spin was Prairie Plains, Trains, and Everything.

Energetic small-town celebration at Eriksdale Creamery Days

Eriksdale Creamery Days had another successful year with hopes of keeping the small-town tradition alive.  

One of the event organizers, Vienna Kinkead enjoyed seeing everyone have fun in the activities that were set up apart from the rodeo. The tractor pulls, wagon rides, bouncy castles, music, and food kept the kids at the event entertained all day long. Kinkead notes what her highlight of the event is.  

Fun filled weekend for Eriksdale Creamery Days

There was a lot going on this weekend for summer events, but one of the highlights certainly was Eriksdale Creamery Days. The event went on all weekend; Project Patio was at the rodeo on Sunday. Although the rodeo is the favourite event for most, there were also tractor pulls, bouncy castles, wagon rides, music, kid's activities, and more. The volunteers at the event were cooking up a great barbeque for everyone all weekend, Eriksdale had beer gardens and even mini donuts.

Great community support for the Kelly Human Memorial Concert

This past Thursday, there was a memorial concert held at Island Park which had good food and an incredible turnout.  

The guest fiddler performing, Mark Morisseau says that he was very happy to be able to entertain with so many other great artists, as well as having the Metis Prairie Steppers at the event. He adds that he was happy with the nice weather for the concert.  

Local artists take the stage at Dauphin Countryfest

Local bands and artists tore up the stage at Dauphin Countryfest.

Quinton Blair performed on the main stage at Countryfest, Blair notes how great the atmosphere is on and off stage at the festival. He highlights that it feels like family when he and his band members are on stage, as well as the excitement of getting an evening spot on the main stage.

First day of the 152 annual Portage Ex Fair

It was a big first day for the Portage Exhibition Fair with crowds all around. Project Patio attended the first day of the fair, we are so glad many of you stopped by. There were countless vendors at the event, as well as many food, ice cream, and beverage trucks available for everyone. The weather was perfect for the big opening of the fair, it still carries over to later events being brought to the main entertainment stage.
