Lester Thistle

Peacefully on Monday August 12, 2024 Lester Thistle passed away with his loving wife, Colleen by his side at Heath Science Centre at the age of 75 years old.

He will lovingly be remembered by his wife Colleen of 60 years, his son Shayne, daughter-in-law April and his grandchildren Madden and Dannilee. His grandchildren were his world and he was their candy man!! His sisters Beverley, Pearl, brother-in-law Woody and many nieces and nephews will remember him with fond memories and love.

Richard “Tricky” Laframboise

Richard “Tricky” Laframboise
(August 24, 1936 – August 3, 2024)

Tricky was one of 15 children born to Alcide and Cecelia of North Bay, Ontario.

He was predeceased by his daughter Michelle, his parents, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

He is now survived by son Michael, and grandkids Alex and Kelsy, 3 brothers and 4 sisters, and wife Lynne of 48 years.

Leslie John Fedyshyn

It is with profound sorrow that the family announces the passing of Leslie John Fedyshyn, aged 60, on July 7th, 2024 after a short courageous battle with cancer. He was a devoted partner to Andy, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Les was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he spent his formative years. He attended Shaughnessy Park and Sisler High schools. He moved to Portage la Prairie 22 years ago and lived there until his passing.

With much sadness, the family of Dawn Edith Pearce (nee Moffat), announces her passing on
June 22, 2024 at the age of 8l yrs. at the Douglas Campbell Lodge, Portage la Prairie Manitoba.

Dawn was born on January 22, 1943 in Portage la Prairie to parents, Earl and Pauline Moffat.

She grew up and attended elementary and high school in Rossburn, where her Dad owned the local Pharmacy. She joined the CGIT group, and was a loyal member of the Rossburn United

Lloyd Litton

Lloyd Litton passed peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, May 28th at the Lion’s Prairie Manor in Portage la Prairie at the age of 87. Dad farmed for many years in the Overhill District south of Portage. He was no stranger to hard work as he usually worked from sunup to sundown on his mixed grain, hay and cattle farm.

Brian Ward

With broken hearts, the family announces the peaceful passing of Brian Ward, 67, on Friday, May 17th, 2024, on D4 at the Health Sciences Centre. The family wishes to thank Dr. J. Ziegler, Tristan (resident) and nurse Abby for the thoughtful care Brian received during his transition from this world. We would also like to express gratitude to Jesse Allard at Ronald Moffit Memorial Services for his compassion during Brian’s final journey.

Evelyn Kaminski

It is with great sadness that we announce that Evelyn Kaminski fell asleep in death early Saturday morning, May 12th, 2024 at Portage General Hospital at the age of 86.

Evelyn was born June 23rd, 1937 in North Battleford, SK. to Ernie and Mary (nee Cimmerer) Dubois. She was raised in St. Claude, MB. Evelyn married Joe Kaminski in 1967 and they were one month away from their 50th anniversary when Joe died in 2017. They lived in Winnipeg, St. Claude, Treherne, Carman, and finally Portage la Prairie, MB.

Bernice Helen Rodgers (nee Dolejsi)

Bernice Helen Rodgers (nee Dolejsi), age 87, of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, passed away peacefully to be with her Saviour on April 25th, 2024.

Bernice was born on April 26th, 1936, in Zeneta, Saskatchewan, a middle child of eight born to Wendell and Ethel Dolejsi. Shortly after her birth, the family relocated to Manitoba, eventually settling in MacGregor.
