The Luseland Police Service (LPS) responded to a wide range of incidents according to their May 2025 service report.

During the month, LPS received five bylaw complaints. These included one parking issue, one noise complaint, which resulted in a Town of Luseland bylaw ticket being issued, two reports of dogs at large, and one incident involving the unlawful discharge of a firearm or similar device within town limits.

KINDERSLEY, Sask. — The Kindersley and District Arts Council’s much-anticipated fundraiser concert at the Norman Ritchie Community Centre, is on for Saturday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. The concert was originally set for April 5 but was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

The event, featuring Saskatoon-based rock band The Radiant and local singer-songwriter Curtis Ehresman, aims to raise funds and awareness to support the council’s efforts in bringing diverse arts programming to the community.

Kindersley Provincial Court held its regular sitting on June 10.

Amanda Watson appeared on charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. Watson previously faced similar charges last year, after RCMP executed a search warrant at her residence, shared with her husband, Cameron Watson. At that time, police seized over 300 grams of cocaine and more than $31,000 in cash, where both she and Cameron were charged.

ROSETOWN, Sask. – Rosetown Central High School has been selected as one of just six recipients nationwide to receive the 2025 DEWALT Tool Enhancement Package, a prestigious grant awarded by Skills/Compétences Canada, Skills Canada Saskatchewan and DEWALT.

The package, valued at approximately $10,000, includes high-quality tools briefly used during the Skills Canada National Competition. The tools will be used to support hands-on learning in trades and technology programs, strengthening Rosetown's long-standing commitment to skilled trades education.

In the wake of sharp criticism from Saskatchewan’s Ombudsman about delays and deficiencies in the government’s wildfire evacuation response, Premier Scott Moe announced new supports for displaced residents on Wednesday, while acknowledging the province must do more to help affected families. 

LUSELAND, Sask. — An Alberta man is facing impaired driving charges following a swift response by the Luseland Police Service to reports of a dangerous driver on Highway 31.

Police say they received several calls around the early morning hours of May 27 about a vehicle driving erratically westbound from Kerrobert to Luseland. Officers intercepted the vehicle shortly after and arrested a 32-year-old male driver.

He has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. — Battlefords RCMP say a serious collision and firearm discharge on Highway 4 last month are now believed to be connected, resulting in numerous charges against two individuals.

The investigation stems from a May 15 incident involving a vehicle rollover and reported firearm use along the highway south of North Battleford. Police say the events are related and have since laid a series of charges.
