Estevan RCMP looking for help identifying two males involved in car theft

The Estevan RCMP are looking for help from the public to identify two males involved in a motor vehicle theft from Benson on September 23rd at around 10:00 a.m.

The Saskatoon Police Service has recovered the vehicle, but the suspects are still at large.

Anyone with information is asked to call 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Foreign affairs minister seeks support for plan to return deported Ukrainian children

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly says she hopes countries from around the world will support a plan to bring back Ukrainian children who have been deported to Russia since the war in Ukraine began nearly three years ago. 

Joly urged more than 70 delegations attending a ministerial conference in Montreal on Wednesday to make a “strong pledge” to ensure children and other Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war are returned home. 

'Not going to play their games': Singh won't help Tories, Bloc topple the Liberals

New Democrats will not cave to demands from the Bloc Québécois and Conservative leaders to help them bring down the Liberal government, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said Wednesday. 

His party is now all that stands between Justin Trudeau's Liberals and an early election, with the other two opposition parties pledging to try to topple the minority government at the next opportunity. 

On Tuesday, Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet said he will make good on his threat to work with the other opposition parties to bring the Liberals down with a non-confidence vote.

PM says he's trying to get Poilievre names of Tories linked to foreign interference

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has asked national security services to find a way to share information with Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre about foreign interference affecting his caucus, he said Wednesday. 

Earlier this month, Trudeau told a public inquiry that he has been given the names of past and present Conservative parliamentarians and candidates who are linked to foreign interference. 

Trudeau said members from other parties, including the Liberals, have also been flagged.

Weekend precipitation likely to fall as rain in the southeast, delaying first snow

With the months shifting soon, colder weather will be bringing snow to Saskatchewan once precipitation is overhead.

Many areas of the province have already seen some drop and are expecting more as part of a wide system coming to Saskatchewan this weekend.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Danielle Desjardins says that in the southeast that system will be a bit different.

New 24-hour AED station unveiled at Churchill Park

The City of Estevan unveiled their new AED machine at Churchill Park today, funded through a grant by CPKC.

At the event, Helen Fornwald spoke about how the device helps out the community, with Mayor Roy Ludwig and Estevan EMS paramedic Brad Robinson also speaking.

During the event, Fornwald talked about the unit and what it brings to the community.
