Survey says more young Canadians believe the history of the Holocaust is exaggerated

On Monday the world will mark eight decades since the liberation of Auschwitz, the notorious Nazi extermination camps where more than a million people, most of them Jews, were murdered during the Second World War.

But as world leaders and Auschwitz survivors prepare to gather at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum in southern Poland, a new survey suggests a growing number of Canadians believe the history of the Holocaust has been exaggerated.

Premier suggests more conversations, more targeted tariffs, NDP responds

Premier Scott Moe says Canada retaliating with broad-based, dollar-for-dollar tariffs against the U.S. if they come to fruition is not the answer, because it hurts Canadians and the general economy. He says his government is not supportive of broad-based tariffs on anything Canadians produce. Instead, the Premier would like to see targeted tariffs which would affect certain American policy makers in their regions. He explains that there would be a small batch of tariffs targeting where U.S. policy makers are, so the people making the decisions are most affected.
