Downtown Revitalization update says intersections could reopened in a few weeks
The latest Downtown Revitalization Update is showing that the intersections could soon be opened back up to the public.
In the update provided by ASL Paving's Jesse Gerhardt, he starts with access and traffic accommodation with some updates on that progress.
Sidewalks are still accessible except in the case where StrataCell replacement is ongoing. The replacement will be ongoing through the 1100 block before the crews shut down for the season.
Fencing has been set up with detours available on most streets.
Motorists reminded to ‘Give Wildlife a Brake’
Fall is mating and migration season for a number of animals, and motorists are being reminded that moose, elk, and deer are less wary around traffic this time of year.
“Our hope is that everyone takes a little bit of extra time and slows down, especially in those high animal density areas, and make sure that everyone gets home safe and sound,” said Darrell Crabbe, executive director of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation.

Photographing hawks or eagles have to be one of the toughest tasks when in the field. Even the rhythm of your tires on the gravel is enough to put them into flight. They seem to know if you're going to stop, and they are gone in a blink.
I was fortunate to capture several photos of this hawk, it was one of the few times where it didn't mind its photo taken. This was one of those experiences where you say, "I can't believe that just happened." I was very thankful for the few moments it gave me.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Kisbey Recreation Centre on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Michelle Moore presiding. Lunch will follow. Interment will take place at the Arcola Cemetery.

Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins get extra win as Terriers penalized for ineligible player
The Estevan Eagle Sky Bruins have received an extra win on their record as the SJHL has made the Yorkton Terriers forfeit some of their wins.
That's because their games on October 11th, 16th and 18th, saw the use of an ineligible player during the match.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Elections Saskatchewan says with more than 880 locations across 61 ridings and polls open today through Saturday and then again on Monday, there are plenty of opportunities to vote. The deadline for applying to vote by mail has come and gone, but Dr. Michael Boda says more than 32,000 voters have applied, which is less than in the 2020 election during the pandemic.
Susan Holt elected first woman premier of New Brunswick
After her party won a majority government in the New Brunswick election on Monday, Liberal Leader Susan Holt thanked all the women who came before her.
Flanked by her three young daughters on stage in Fredericton, Holt, the first female premier-designate in New Brunswick history, delivered a bilingual victory speech that paid tribute to female trailblazers in provincial politics.
The 47-year-old former business advocate and public servant led the Liberals to victory after a 33-day campaign, thwarting Blaine Higgs’s bid to secure a third term as Tory premier.
