The province of Saskatchewan has changed trespass regulations, in a move that they say will better empower local authorities to make arrests. Particularly, they're focusing those efforts on drug use, including prohibited samples such as fentanyl and methamphetamines.

Kitchen dreams heating up after record Creighton Lodge fundraiser
Creighton Lodge celebrated a record-breaking night on Saturday, with more than 450 people gathering to support the seniors' residence's ambitious kitchen renovation project.
The April 26 event, held at the curling arena, drew the largest crowd in Creighton Lodge’s fundraising history, leaving organizers feeling deeply moved.
"We had over 450 people in attendance, and it was just a fabulous night," said Shelly Veroba, manager of Creighton Lodge. "It was our largest fundraiser to date."
Steven Bonk elected MP for Souris-Moose Mountain
Conservative Candidate for the riding of Souris-Moose Mountain, Steven Bonk, has been elected as Member of Parliament, taking over as incumbent for Dr. Robert Kitchen. Bonk was stationed at the Weyburn Legion for election night, with local dignitaries including MLA for Weyburn-Bengough Mike Weger, MLA for Moosomin Montmartre Kevin Weedmark, and Weyburn Mayor Jeff Richards.
Bonk addressed those in attendance, thankful for the support he has felt from the nomination through the campaign.
Liberals win 4th mandate as NDP vote collapses and Singh announces he will resign
Prime Minister Mark Carney promised to unite the country and govern for all after Canadians handed the Liberals a fourth consecutive mandate in Monday's federal election.
"Who is ready," he shouted to cheers and applause and people chanting his name in a crowded hockey arena in Ottawa in the wee hours of the morning. "Who is ready? Who is ready to stand up for Canada with me? And who is ready to build Canada strong?"
Liberals projected to finish just short of a majority after very close election race
Prime Minister Mark Carney will lead a minority government after a very close general election race that left the Liberals just three seats shy of a majority.
Just before 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Elections Canada showed the Liberals projected to win 169 ridings after flipping one riding in Quebec from the Bloc Québécois earlier in the day.
The Conservatives won 144 seats and will form the official Opposition again. The Bloc Québécois followed with 22 seats, the NDP with seven projected seats and the Green Party with one seat.
Jagmeet Singh to step down as NDP Leader after losing seat
Jagmeet Singh says he will step down as the leader of the NDP as soon as a new interim leader is chosen.
Singh conceded defeat in his British Columbia riding of Burnaby Central and the party is at risk of losing official party status.
With the NDP at risk of losing official party status — and after losing his own riding — Singh said he'd be stepping down as leader once the party selects an interim replacement.
"We may lose sometimes and those losses hurt," Singh said, fighting emotion as he stood beside his wife on a stage in Burnaby, B.C.
Canadians give Liberals 4th mandate; Carney wins Ottawa riding
The Canadian Press decision desk is projecting a Liberal government following a short, intense and heated federal election campaign.
As of 10:22 p.m. EDT, the Liberals had received 50 per cent of the popular vote while the Tories held 39 per cent.
Preliminary results for 43 ridings show the Liberals taking 28 seats and the Conservatives holding 21, with the Bloc Québécois holding four seats.
The last polls in British Columbia and Yukon closed at 10 p.m. EDT, following the Prairies and the other territories half an hour earlier.
Estevan council approves tenders for paint, dust control, and gravel supply
The Estevan City Council approved a series of tenders during their recent meeting, following the recommendations from the Public Works Manager.
The first tender was for traffic paint, with Sherwin-Williams awarded the contract for their Pro Mar Line product at a cost of $39,951.85. Councillor Shelly Veroba made the motion, seconded by Councillor Kirsten Walliser, noting that Sherwin-Williams was the most cost-effective option within the 2025 budget and had demonstrated adequate longevity in previous years. The motion passed unanimously.
Tough competition in the show ring for the Western Dairy Expo and 1st Annual Legends of the Industry Awards handed out
The Western Dairy Expo wrapped up Saturday in Saskatoon.
This year's event featured 200 Holstein and about 60 Jersey cows and heifers and was judged by Paul Trapp a product acquisition specialist with Semex USA out of Wisconsin, and his associate judge Jon Larson.

Estevan police charge suspects in theft, fraud and breach of court orders
The Estevan Police Service responded to a series of incidents between April 25 and 27, resulting in several arrests for theft, fraud, public disturbances and breaches of court conditions. Investigations into some of the matters are ongoing.
On April 25, the Estevan Police Service received a driving complaint regarding an unauthorized driver operating a vehicle without a proper license. The matter remains under investigation.
