It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dad and grandpa, Jerry (Jez) Ryba, on May 18th, 2024. Dad passed in the arms of his daughter, Jeri, in her home.

Dad was born in Moose Jaw to Charlie and Mary Anastasia Ryba and was the youngest of ten children. He attended Prince Arthur School and Moose Jaw Technical High School.

Sandra (Sandy) Ann Moore (née: Lehto)

November 3rd, 1957 - May 22nd, 2024

WALKER

Feb. 19, 1967 – May 19, 2024

Deanna Lynn Walker was born February 19, 1967, in Kamloops, BC. and was adopted by Bill and Etalia Shane.  In 1972 she became a big sister when her parents adopted a baby boy Buster (William).  After her parents' divorce her mom blessed her with another dad, Doug and in 1979 a baby sister Peggy. In 1988 she moved to Neville, Saskatchewan to be with her family who had moved there the previous year.

McLAREN, Phyllis and Bob

Phyllis Muriel Victoria McLaren (née: Warner), aged 84, passed away on Monday, March 4th, 2024 at the Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary, AB.

Robert (Bob) Russell McLaren, aged 72, passed away on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011.

As per their wishes of no fuss.  A Graveside Service to honor Phyllis and Bob will be held on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Rosedale Cemetery, 1804 Caribou Street West, Moose Jaw, SK.

HICKS

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maxine Mary Hicks on Saturday, May 11, 2024, with family by her side.

Maxine was born to Fred & Betty Fiske on May 6, 1936, in Tisdale, SK. She was raised on the family farm near Loreburn and attended school in the district. After high school Maxine worked at the Moose Jaw Training School, then at Federated Co-op in Regina. 

SJOBERG/CARAGATA

Ilene (Sjoberg) Caragata of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 89 years of age. Ilene was born in Strathroy, ON, to Silas and Beatrice Zavitz.  Ilene was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister and aunt.  She was loved by her family, and she loved them. 

Ilene was predeceased by her first husband, Leonard Caragata and recent husband, Don Sjoberg; son, Timmy Boxall; sister, Audrey Mundy; brother-in-law, Robert Mundy and daughter-in-law, Susan Caragata.

STEPHANSON

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Valerie Stephanson on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.

Sylvia was born in Frontier, Saskatchewan, on August 23, 1938, the 10th of 14 children of Magnus and Mary Stephanson (nee Shirley).

KOSTENIUK

Elaine Edna Kosteniuk (nee Whiteside) passed away on May 18, 2024, at her care home in Moose Jaw, SK at 95 years of age.  Elaine was born on the farm October 10, 1928, near Lestock, SK.  Elaine was an entrepreneur regardless of only having her grade two education.  As a young girl she would drive the horse team on the farm.  She owned many restaurants which kept her busy. 

GRUELL

Bonnie Jean Gruell (nee Brown) of 913 Albert St. Moose Jaw, was born May 5th, 1944. Mom passed away peacefully from her courageous lung cancer battle, with daughter Katherine at her bedside on May 9th, 2024 at the accomplished age of 80 at Pioneer Lodge. She was born the 10th child of a baker’s dozen (13) to Malcolm (Scotty)MacKinnon and Edith Brown nee Ward. Bonnie met Hubby, Earl Gruell while bowling. They were married September 26, 1969 and instantly her family nearly doubled as Earl was the 8th child of 9!
