On Tuesday, November 14th, 2023, 9 years to the date of her husband Charles’ memorial service, Margaret “Moira” Tunks (our Queenie) went to be with the angels, with her daughter Gaylene by her side.  Moira was born in Lockwood, SK on May 27th, 1925 to Hector and Isobel McKinnon.  She lived on a farm and attended Kneller School, where her mother taught, and then high school in Drake, SK.

EVANS

Alvin Charles Evans aged 68 years of Moose Jaw, SK., passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Alvin worked for the Government of Saskatchewan for 43 years, including retirement from Department of Highways on July 21, 2021.  After retiring, Alvin continued to truck drive for CK Transportation Ltd.

Harris, Muriel Ann – With hearts saddened by loss, the family of Muriel Harris announces her peaceful passing on November 17, 2023.  Muriel was predeceased by her loving husband, Stan.  Left to cherish her memory are daughters Barbara (Donald) Butlin of Moose Jaw, SK, Cori (Darrell) Nay of Delta, BC, Susan (Raymond) Carter of Cold Lake, AB, and Mary (Robin) Taylor of Calgary, AB.  Muriel treasured her grandchildren, Jennifer (Steven), Nicole (Devon), Curtis (Sylvia), Kevin, Cameron (Michelle), Cora (Nick),

I didn't live one life I had many, but now I drew my last card, played my last meeple, placed my last tile, as the pieces hit the floor, friends and family will pick them up and return them to the box to start a new round. I'm on a new adventure exploring more than I ever could, free from rules and guidelines to pursue quests wherever they may be but just know I'll come back to greet you when you are ready. 

FROEHLICH

Garry Owen Froehlich, aged 85 years, passed away with his family by his side in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on Sunday, November 12th, 2023.

Garry was born in Moose Jaw on June 1st, 1938 to Leonard and Mary Froehlich; he was the youngest of six children.  Garry began his life on the farm and loved everything about the it – growing up learning about farming through all the years.  One of his greatest joys in life was working the land.

DOMBOWSKY

Lorraine Anne Dombowsky (née: Debert), loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 9th, 2023 at Coteau Range Manor in Avonlea, SK, loved by her family and caregivers, at the age of 88 years.

Lorraine, an only child, was born in Hearne, SK on June 6th, 1935  and attended Goodland School.  She married her lifelong partner of 67 years, Norbert, in 1953 and they were blessed with six children.  She began her 30-year teaching career in 1969, creating a legacy of self-reliance through her students.

DIETRICH

Charles Alexander Dietrich aged 83 years of Central Butte, SK, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 7th, 2023.  Charles was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive husband, father and friend.

Charles fell in love with flying at the age of 17 and flew as a helicopter pilot all over the world.  He moved back home to farm and met his wife Betty in 1972, and they went on to have three daughters.  Charles put family first, always, and was a dedicated husband and father.  His wisdom and guidance were the foundation of his family.

The family of Marvin (Red) Schaitel is sad to announce his passing on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with liver cancer.
