Airdrie motorists heading south on QEII to face delays Wednesday
Crews are back on the QEII Highway for a second consecutive day of pothole repairs, this time affecting southbound traffic near the Calgary city limits.
Work is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today.
"Southbound QEII from jct Hwy566 to City of Calgary limits - pothole repair on May.14 from 9:30am to 2:30pm. Expect Fast and middle lane closed and reduce speed to 60km/h in the work zone," 511 Alberta tweeted.

Airdrie fire crews attended the scene and the vehicle was extinguished. While earlier reports indicated a highway closure, fire department officials confirmed that they had previously opened two northbound lanes.
Traffic was backed up for some time, though shortly before 8 Tuesday evening, traffic flow resumed.

A motor vehicle collision on the QEII heading southbound near Crossiron Boulevard just before four this afternoon had caused earlier traffic delays for motorists.

Mounties issue weekend warning — Airdrie motorists urged to slow down
Drivers on the QEII near Airdrie are being urged to slow down Saturday as volunteers — including children — clean along the highway as part of a province-wide litter pickup.
Motorists should expect volunteers and patrols in marked cleanup zones, the Alberta RCMP said in a media release Thursday. The campaign is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 3, with May 10 as a backup in case of weather delays.

Traffic is moving again after multiple collisions snarled roads in northeast Calgary Monday afternoon.
Country Hills Boulevard NE between Stoney Trail and 100 Street NE has reopened to two-way traffic after an earlier crash.
