Red Wings snap skid in Kindersley

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings got back into the win column Saturday night, ending their four-game losing skid. They would pick up a 3-2 win in overtime over the Kindersley Klippers.

With the win, the Red Wings moved slightly ahead of the Notre Dame Hounds, expanding the difference to seven points. The Wings also closed in slightly on the Nipawin Hawks, who are in seventh place with 55 points. Weyburn is currently holding down 8th place with 51 points and a game in hand.

Wings drop third in a row

Dealing with a shortened bench for their road trip to Flin Flon, the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings would fall 5-3 to the Bombers in the second game in as many nights. The Wings would rally to keep things close but were unable to score the game-tying goal in the third period, with an empty-netter with six seconds sealing the deal for Flin Flon.

Red Wings come up short in Wilcox

After picking up a win over the Notre Dame Hounds Friday night, the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings were looking to keep the momentum going when the Yorkton Terriers came to town Saturday. For that match-up, it was essentially do-or-die for the Terriers, as a loss would see them all but be eliminated from playoff contention. Then the Red Wings would head out on the road Monday night as they travelled to Wilcox for a rematch with the Notre Dame Hounds, who continue to look for every point they can to try to secure a playoff spot.
