Eldo Mervyn Schmidt

Eldo Mervyn Schmidt of Moose Jaw passed away on November 8, 2024, at the age of 78. Born in Gravelbourg, he grew up on the family farm near Ernfold, SK. He attended Charlotte Rural School to grade 7, attending high school in Morse where he achieved his grade 12. He came to Moose Jaw in 1965 and worked several jobs, the longest one being for the Moose Jaw Public School board for 32.5 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed travelling and camping with his wife Marion. His hobbies included model building, stamp and coin collecting as well as metal detecting in his earlier years.

Glen Garnet Anderson

It is with profound sadness that the family of Glen Garnet Anderson announces his passing on November 10 th, 2024 at age 91. 

He is predeceased by his parents Alice and Seymour Anderson, in-laws Grace and Robert Sadlemyer, infant brother of the same name, sister Joyce Maloney, sisters and brothers-in-law Bill Maloney, Grant Pasiuk, Irene and Mike Opyr, Evelyn and Lorne Sadlemyer, Audrey and Neil Windjack, nephew Larry Maloney and nieces Cheryl Gallatin and Maureen Woolley. 

Robert Bernard Lien

Robert Bernard Lien, known affectionately as Bob, passed away on November 4, 2024, in Moose Jaw, SK, at the age of 82. Born on July 24, 1942, in Tuxford, SK, he was a cherished member of his community and a devoted fan of baseball. Bob spent many enjoyable hours watching games and playing slo-pitch softball with his team the Tigers, sharing his love for the sport with friends and family. 

Romeo Baguna

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Romeo Baguna on October 30, 2024, at the age of 49. A visitation will be held on Tuesday November 5, 2024, from 6pm to 9pm located at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel, 474 Hochelaga Street West. A Celebration of life will take place on Wednesday November 6, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Parish at 2pm, 1064 3rd Ave NW.  For those so wishing memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Parish. In living memory of Romeo, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd.

Freeman Chow

It is with sadness the family announce the passing of Freeman Chow on October 20, 2024. He will be sadly missed by his wife Sandra; son Richard and his children Avery and Nolan; daughter Tina (Daniel) and their son Matthew. Trevor Wilson

It is with sadness that the family of Trevor Wilson announce his sudden passing on October 19, 2024, at the age of 70. He will be sadly missed by his children Keisha Birg, Marlon Wilson, Colleen Ferguson, Jelani Wilson, Omari Wilson; grandchildren Malaya Wilson, Lucas Birg, Levi Birg, Omir Ferguson as well as other family members and friends. A celebration of Trevor’s life will be announced at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Providence Place for their compassion and care of our father, Trevor.

Timothy James Stewart

The family of Timothy James Stewart is sad to announce his passing on Saturday October 12, 2024, at the age of 63. Timothy was born on March 7, 1961, to Ann Marie and Raymond Stewart in Belcarres, SK. He will be missed by family and friends. There will be no formal funeral service. Timothy will be interred in the family plot in Kennedy, SK. Memorial donations in Timothy’s may be made to Saskatchewan Cancer Society 200-4545 Parliament Ave. Regina, SK Canada S4W 0G3.  

Valerie Merrick

Valerie Merrick of Moose Jaw passed away on December 19, 2023, at the age of 86. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 12:00 noon. Reverend Dave Moore will officiate. A reception will follow at W. J. Jones & Son reception centre at 474 Hochelaga St W., Moose Jaw, SK. In living memory of Valerie, a memorial planting was made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd. Faye Sylvestre

It is with sadness the family of Faye Sylvestre announces her passing on October 11, 2024, at the age of 81. She was predeceased by her parents and daughter Penny. Faye will be missed by her children Cheryl Sylvestre, Ronald Sylvestre, Donna White, Calvin Sylvestre, and Robert Sylvestre; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and siblings Jim Holkestead and Penny Holkestead.
