Fort Saskatchewan senior talks about importance of Linking Generations
Meet Evelyn Hrudko, a local senior staying at Dr. Turner Lodge in Fort Saskatchewan.
For the last two years, Hrudko has been a part of Linking Generations, a charity that pairs up students at Saint John Paul II Catholic School with seniors from the lodge.
"I'd say the best part is just being able to talk to these kids, because they find out stuff about us and we find out about them, too," said Hrudko. "All the travelling that they do nowadays, that we didn't do at all when I was growing up."

Trump makes history, pleading not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records
Donald Trump has reportedly pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.
Media reports say the ex-president entered the plea today in a heavily guarded New York courtroom — the first former commander-in-chief in U.S. history ever to do so.
Live television coverage showed a stone-faced Trump, clad in his trademark dark suit and red tie, follow his legal team into the courtroom for his arraignment.
He was equally stoic — and uncharacteristically silent — as he left the courtroom about an hour later.

One of the questions on the survey asked residents what type of new recreational space was needed. A new pool was reportedly the most suggested item, though no specific numbers were released on the number of respondents who asked for one.

The Canadian Cattle Association is disappointed with the news that Canada has reached a market access agreement with the UK to join the CPTPP without achieving viable access for Canadian beef into the UK.
While full details of the deal remain unavailable the CCA says they are aware that other members of the CPTPP have achieved unlimited beef access in their bilateral agreements with the UK, but that similar access for Canada is 'off the table'.
CP says the Federal Government is looking at renewing a failed policy
Last week's Federal Budget called for a pilot program to reintroduce and extend the rail interswitching limit on the prairies.
Elizabeth Hucker, CP's assistant vice-president of marketing and sales for Canadian grain says it's an idea CP Rail is not in favor of.
"Interswitching requires additional handoffs for rail cars between carriers, which in turn causes increased dwell time. This slows the entire rail supply chain and reduces capacity by introducing inefficiencies which could otherwise be avoided."
