Streaking Broncos welcome Warriors to close home-and-home
The Swift Current Broncos can extend their winning streak to five tonight as the host the struggling Moose Jaw Warriors.
Swift Current came from behind to beat the Warriors 4-3 in a shootout on the road last night, with the second half of the home-and-home tonight at the InnovationPlex.
Oilers add Nathan Tobey from the USHL to their roster
The Okotoks Oilers have announced that they have struck a deal with defenceman Nathan Tobey from the USHL.
Tobey comes with a plethora of experience and has played with top-end talent with some players already in the NHL while he was with the USA National Team Development Program (USNTDP).
Bears fall short against Legionnaires, look ahead to next test
The U18 AAA Estevan Bears faced a tough challenge over the weekend against the Swift Current Legionnaires, the same team the Bears defeated last year to secure a playoff spot.
In the first game, the Bears struggled and were shut out 9-0.
“The first game we came out fairly slow. Things started going sideways on us and it just started snowballing from there, and we never could really get it back on the rails,” said Jason Johnstone, assistant coach for the Bears.
Highwood Mustangs finish fourth in tournament play
The Highwood Mustangs Senior Girl's volleyball took the Foothills Composite Eagles to five sets but came out on the losing end in a 3-2 game.
The first set was a back-and-forth tilt with a few lead changes, but the Falcons ultimately came out victors with a 25-22 set score.
Early on in the set, the game would be tied at nine a piece. The Mustangs would then take a 16-10 lead, but the Falcons made it even a little later on with a 19-19 score. The score would then be deadlocked again at 22-22, the Falcons however took the final three points in the set for a 1-0 lead.
Terriers aim to extend win streak as Winnipeg Blues visit Stride Place
The Portage Terriers are into rarified air with their current ten-game winning streak. The team hasn't won this many in a row since the 2022-2023 season when Kian Calder was the captain.
The Terriers put the win streak on the line against a team that hasn't beaten them at all in the last five seasons, the Winnipeg Blues. The Blues lost their last game on Monday to the Winkler Flyers 6-1, but managed their third win of the season the night previous, a 3-0 victory over the Winnipeg Freeze.

The format of the ASAA high school provincial playoffs may have shifted each of the last three years but what hasn't changed is the consistent threat of the Cochrane Cobras.
The Cochrane Cobras now are preparing to host another Cobras team from Claresholm in the 3A south final and are determined to once again advance to the provincials.
Kick-off is 1 p.m. at the Cochrane Cobras turf.
On Nov. 10, Cochrane engineered a convincing 41-13 win against the Taber Rebels in a south semifinal game on home turf.
RDP Cross-Country team finishes top ten in Nationals
The Red Deer Polytechnic Queens Cross Country Running team capped off its season with a seventh-place finish at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross Country Running National Championships.

Trial date set for Dillon Dubé
The trial date has been set for the five players on Team Canada's 2018 World Junior hockey include, including Cochrane's Dillon Dube. It will begin on Apr. 22 and expected to last eight weeks.
The trial of former NHLers Dillon Dube, Cal Foote, Carter Hart and Alex Formenton have each been charged with one count sexual assault, and Michael McLeod has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, including one relating to aiding someone else in the offence.
Dube is currently reported to be playing with the Dinamo Minsk of the KHL.
Rebels give up third period lead, fall in shootout to Seattle
The Red Deer Rebels woes south of the border continued Tuesday night as the team is now winless in four after a 3-2 shootout loss in Seattle.
The Rebels took a 2-0 lead into the third period on goals by Beckett Hamilton and Ollie Josephson.
However, the Thunderbirds stormed back in the final frame with a pair of goals by Braeden Cootes, one on the power play and one short-handed. Cootes would add another tally in the shootout to help seal the victory.
Both teams had 31 shots on net.
Red Deer went 0-for-4 on the power play, while Seattle was 1-for-7.
