Estevan pitcher Prysm Gooding commits to U of R Cougars
Local athlete Prysm Gooding has signed with the University of Regina Cougars softball team as a left-handed pitcher — a major step forward in both her athletic and academic journey.
Gooding, who will pursue a combined Bachelor of Kinesiology and Education at the U of R, said she’s eager to grow as a player and eventually inspire the next generation of athletes.

Local racing enthusiasts, hobby mechanics, and more are revving up for another season with the Swift Current Stock Car Racing Association.
The 2025 season is sure to bring some adrenaline-packed action, all-new excitement, and passion-fueled dirt track racing.
Reschny sporting "A" for Team Canada at U18 World Championship
One week ago, Macklin's Cole Reschny and the Victoria Royals were getting ready for a Game 7 showdown against the Spokane Chiefs. The Royals lost a double OT heartbreaker 5-4, but Reschny's season didn't end there, as fast forward one week and the local star is in Allen, Texas playing for Team Canada at the U18 World Hockey Championship.
Team Canada finished the group stage 4-0, their last victory coming 8-1 over Team Norway on Monday. After a day off Tuesday, the quarter-final round begins on Wednesday with Reschny and Canada set to face Czechia.
Judo Saskatchewan reveals 2025 nationals team
Judo Saskatchewan has announced their team for the 2025 Canadian National Championships, which will take place from May 15 to 18 at the University of Calgary's Olympic Oval.

RUSH REACH - Jake Boudreau leads Sask Rush to playoff win
After an exciting victory over the Georgia Swarm, the Saskatchewan Rush are moving on in the NLL playoffs!
One of the biggest contributors to the 13-9 victory was Rush transition player Jake Boudreau. With four goals and an assist, Boudreau said it was a team effort that led to the win.

The defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers are a win away from advancing to the next round of the playoffs after a 4-2 win over Tampa Bay last night. The Panthers with a 3-1 series lead.
The Dallas Stars took a 3-2 series lead on Colorado with a 6-2 victory over the Avalanche.
Tonight, the Edmonton Oilers play the Kings in LA with that series tied 2-2 and the Toronto Maple Leafs look to dispose of the Ottawa Senators. The Leafs with a 3-1 series lead heading into tonight's game.
Season begins for Rampage Lacrosse
A tough start to the season for the Swift Current Rampage Lacrosse teams on April 26 in South Sask Lacrosse League action.
The U11 Rampage Rowdy lost 15-0 to the Moose Jaw Mustangs Black and 12-3 to the Moose Jaw Mustangs Black.
Swift Current's other U11 team, the Rampage Bruiser, fell 7-0 to the Moose Jaw Mustangs Red and 14-1 to the Moose Jaw Mustangs Black.
The U13 Rampage travelled to Regina and lost both games 13-4 and 15-5 to the Regina Chaos Grey.
At the U15 level, Swift Current hosted the Moose Jaw Mustangs and were defeated 12-0 and 10-2.
