Terriers drop double OT decision to Dauphin in Game 4
The Portage Terriers dropped a heart breaker on Friday night 4-3 in double overtime to the Dauphin Kings.
The Terriers started the game strong until a penalty derailed their momentum. Matthew Thomas then scored on the power play to make it 1-0 Kings. Rylan Gage made it 2-0 late in the period for his second of the playoffs. After letting in 2 goals on 14 shots, Terrier goalie Ryan Velan was done for the night, and Mitchell Kathler came into the game in relief.

Moose Jaw, SK – With the conclusion of the Moose Jaw Warriors’ season, General Manager Jason Ripplinger and the Moose Jaw Warriors scouting staff are preparing for one of the organization’s biggest days of the year – the WHL Prospect Draft.
The 2025 drafts begin on May 7 with the WHL Expansion Draft and the first round of the WHL Prospects draft. The US Priority Draft and the remaining rounds of the Prospects Draft will follow on May 8. The CHL Import draft will follow later in the summer.
Hockey world marks anniversary of Cave's passing
Friends, family, and the hockey world marked the fifth anniversary of Colby Cave's passing.
The former captain of the Swift Current Broncos died on April 11th, 2020, after suffering a brain bleed.
"5 years without you," Cave's widow Emily posted on X. "I will endure a lifetime of missing you for the privilege of loving you."
Cave played four full seasons and 287 WHL games with the Broncos.
He went on to suit up for the Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers in the NHL.
Foothills water polo players bring home medals from provincial tournament
Local water polo players recently took home some hardware in a provincial tournament.
Members of the Foothills-based Prairie Dolphins Water Polo Club were in Edmonton over the weekend to compete in the Alberta Water Polo Winter Provincial League.
Three groups of Prairie Dolphins players competed each of them paired with other teams.
The U12 girls were paired with the Calgary Wild, the U14 boys played with the Edmonton Riptides to form the Riptides Blue and Riptides Teal teams, and the U18 boys were paired with Calgary Mako.

Senior City Final badminton championship results
The Senior City Final badminton championships took place on April 8th at Peacock Collegiate. Each school could enter two participants in each of the five categories: boys singles, girls singles, boys' doubles, girls' doubles, and mixed doubles.
Cornerstone emerged victorious, securing their fifth consecutive team championship and winning gold in four out of the five categories. Central followed closely, earning one gold and three silver medals.
Skatemore Girls flips its way into first meeting of the year
Now that the snow is gone, Skatemore Girls has resumed weekly meetings at the Strathmore Skatepark.
The group held its first meeting on Thursday, Apr. 10.
"It's so exciting. It feels so good," said founder Becca McDonald. "I definitely missed the community over the winter."
At each gathering the group supplies residents with skateboards, snacks, and safety equipment, alongside a Bluetooth speaker and karaoke.
"I try to bring a hula hoop and craft stuff, so they don't even need to come and skate. They can just hang out."
Klippers make another signing out of Southern Alberta Hockey Academy
The Kindersley Jr. Klippers announced a signing on Friday. Calgary born goaltender Mattias Radke signed on with the Klippers out of the Southern Alberta Hockey Academy (SAHA) located in Dunmore, Alberta outside of Medicine Hat.
Radke posted a 2.76 GAA and .913 SV% in 26 games played this past season, posting two shutouts. In three playoff starts, Radke helped backstop SAHA to an appearance in the semifinals with a 2.80 GAA and a .908 SV%.
