The Final Four race for the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship this afternoon

The final four have been decided for the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship.

The top four wagons in the aggregate after Saturday night's races are:

57's get bats going in loss to Murdoch's Berries

After being shut out on Friday, the Swift Current 57's found their hitting stroke on Saturday.

They had 12 hits and scored 5 times, but it wasn't enough to pick up their first win of the WCBL season.

Swift Current native Ethan Murdoch doubled once and walked three times as his Saskatoon Berries beat the 57's 10-5.

The 57's out hit the Berries 12-8, but Saskatoon drew 10 walks in the game and took advantage of 4 Swift Current errors.

Jose Ayala hit his second home run in his last three games and drove in 3 runs for the 57's.

Murphy ties franchise home record as Goldeyes drop series opener

The Winnipeg Goldeyes (11-15) fell 6-2 to the Kansas City Monarchs (18-7) Friday evening at Blue Cross Park in the opener of a three-game weekend series.

Kansas City, owners of the American Association’s top-ranked offence, opened the scoring on the second pitch of the game. Monarchs right fielder Isiah Gilliam drove a solo home run over the left field wall to put the visitors ahead 1-0.
 

Jason Glass is in the hunt for the final four at the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship

High River's Jason Glass continues to have an outstanding start in the WPCA season.

At the second event of the season, Glass is now sitting in second in the aggregate after two nights of racing, after finishing in first on Day One and seventh on Day Two.

Dayton Sutherland from DeWinton also had a fast night, coming in 9th and now sits in 9th in the aggregate with an outside chance of making the final four.

The top four drivers after Saturday night's heats will qualify for the $22,000 final heat on Sunday for the Championship.

Red Sox shut 57's out

Ayden Page induced a Silas Hilton flyout with the bases loaded to end the game as the Regina Red Sox shut down the Swift Current 57's offence on Friday night. 

Page and Colten Anderson combined for a 6-hit shutout in Regina's 5-0 win.

Swift Current fell to 0-8 early in the WCBL season.

Casey Prychak, Luis Ayala, and Jose Ayala each had 2 hits for the 57's, but they left 10 runners on base in the loss.

The Red Sox scored 5 despite only having one additional baserunner.

Monster night for Murdoch in Berries rout over Moose Jaw

Swift Current's Ethan Murdoch put on a powerful display at the dish Friday night.

The Saskatoon Berriers designated hitter went 3-for-5 with two homers, six RBI, and three runs scored in his team's 22-4 thrashing of the Moose Jaw Miller Express.

Murdoch now shares the league lead in home runs at three and sits tied for third in the league with 11 RBIs in seven games.

Beavers pitchers strike out 15 in loss against Fort McMurray

The Weyburn Beavers outhit their opponents 10-4 on Friday night, but defensive miscues proved costly in an 8–4 loss to the Fort McMurray Giants at Tom Laing Park.

Weyburn committed four errors on the night, two of them charged to catcher Brayden Mayencourt, that helped extend multiple innings for Fort McMurray. The Giants capitalized despite only managing three hits through the first eight innings, making the most of free passes, aggressive baserunning, and timely contact.
