There were a number of games for Weyburn lacrosse teams in the past week, with nearly every age group taking to the floor, whether at home or on the road.

16U Men's Humboldt Chaos Volleyball Club to compete Youth Nationals in Edmonton
The 16U Men's Humboldt Chaos Volleyball Club will be competing against the some of the best teams in Canada as a part of the Youth Nationals in Edmonton.
Today the Chaos Volleyball Club will be in action with three games, they will face the Barn Owls Volleyball Club from BC, then they will square off with the Jr. Gryphons from Ontario, before they wrap up the first day of action against the Fort Sask Sonic VC from Alberta.
Goldeyes explode for seven in the third, down Milkmen 11-6 for third straight win
The Winnipeg Goldeyes (6-6) erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the third inning en route to an 11-6 victory over the Milwaukee Milkmen (4-6) on a pleasant Wednesday evening at Blue Cross Park. The win marks the Goldeyes’ third straight, bringing them back to .500 on the season.
Milwaukee opened the scoring early, as Micker Adolfo delivered run-scoring single in the top of the first to give the visitors a 1-0 edge. Winnipeg responded in the bottom of the second when Gustavo Sosa lined a single up the middle to score Tanner O’Tremba and tie the game at 1-1.

The Edmonton Oilers watched a 3-1 lead evaporate in the 3rd period last night. The Dallas Stars scored 5 unanswered goals in the final 20 minutes, three of them on the power play, on their way to a 6-3 win in game one of the NHL's Western Conference Final.
Tonight, it's game 2 in the Carolina / Florida series with the Panthers leading one-game-to-none.
Team Canada plays Denmark later today in the quarter-finals of the World Men's Hockey Championship. Game time, our time, is 12:20.
Local golf tournament to raise funds for a cause close to home
Southwest families, golf enthusiasts, and more can help support those living with cystic fibrosis with the Erpster Cup Golf Tournament coming up this weekend.
The annual tournament is set for Saturday, May 24, at Meadowdale Golf Course, located just outside of Gull Lake, with registration beginning at 1:00 p.m. and a shotgun start at 2:00 p.m.
Jenna Roosen, president of the Gull Lake Kinettes, shared that golfers of all ages and skill levels can still register for the tournament up to the day of.

Kadez Penner is carving his name in the game of football
The love for the game of football has always been there for Kadez Penner and as he continues to develop as a standout player, a future in the game is becoming closer to reality.
Recently, Penner had an opportunity to showcase his skillset for a lot of interested eyes. "I went to Edmonton to do a football showcase that had college scouts at it," the towering athlete explains. "We did combine events like running and jumping, as well as competition activities."
Mustangs pull away in win over Wolverines
Shane Cornelson, Ryder Turko, and Grady Henderson each had hat tricks, but the Swift Current Wolverines fell 15-10 in Moose Jaw.
Cooper Bruce and Braxton Mac Angus each scored four times for the Mustangs as they moved to 4-1 on the season, while Swift Current fell to 2-4 in the junior Prairie Gold Lacrosse League.
The Wolverines jumped out to a 2-0 lead and were up 5-3 after the 1st.
Moose Jaw then outscored them 9-4 in the 2nd and pulled ahead for good.
The Mustangs have won two out of three against Swift Current this season.
Swift Current swimmer medals at Canadian Masters
A return to the pool led to a special memory for Swift Current's Ang Moffit.
At 40 years old, she returned to competitive swimming to win two bronze medals and a silver at the Canadian Masters Swimming Championships in Saskatoon.
