Saskatchewan files for injunction over Canada Revenue Agency collecting carbon money
Saskatchewan is going to court to stop the Canada Revenue Agency from collecting millions of dollars in carbon levy money — but the federal government says it will stand firm because the law is the law.
Saskatchewan Justice Minister Bronwyn Eyre announced Thursday the province has filed for an injunction to stop the federal revenue service from going after the province's bank account.
The application, filed in Federal Court in Vancouver, argues it's unconstitutional for the agency to take from the province's consolidated revenue fund, Eyre told reporters.

Wetaskiwin RCMP recover stolen property near Millet
On July 3, at approximately 5 a.m., the Wetaskiwin RCMP recovered a stolen vehicle in the town of Millet.
Through further investigation RCMP were led to believe that there were more stolen items at rural location near Millet, and applied for a warrant to search the property.
At approximately 3 p.m., the warrant was executed by the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, Police Dog Services and General Duty Members.
As a result of the property search, two stolen pick-up trucks and a bail hauler were recovered from the property.
Red Deer resident arrested for Cold Lake break and enter
On July 1, the Cold Lake RCMP were called to a break and enter in progress at a residence in Cold Lake.
When police arrived, they discovered the suspect by the homeowner who did not know the suspect.
An investigation revealed that the suspect threatened the owner with an imitation firearm.

The 106th Annual Benalto Fair and Stampede is set to go.
Starting tonight with the "Bulls at the Buck Off" event, there will be a full weekend of rodeo action and family events.
The Pro Rodeo runs Friday and Saturday from 6:30 pm and Sunday from 1:00 pm. Other events include a Junior Rodeo, Extreme Cowboy Racing, Wild Pony Races and Slack Performance.
Red Deer County Fire offers unique camp for female and gender diverse firefighters
Starting tomorrow, Friday, July 5th and running through the weekend to July 7th, Red Deer County Fire is offering a special camp called Ignite the Fire.

Red Deer RCMP investigate collision involving impaired driver
This morning (July 4) the Red Deer RCMP were on the scene of a serious collision on Gaetz avenue and 37 Street.
Through a police investigation it was revealed that the driver involved in the collision was impaired by alcohol.
As a result, a 35-year-old male was arrested for impaired operation over the legal limit causing bodily harm.
The individual was subsequently released on an appearance notice.
Charges are currently pending.
An update is expected.
BGC Wolf Creek expanding to Blackfalds
BGC Wolf Creek is getting ready to expand youth programming and services into Blackfalds this fall.
The new BGC location will operate out of the Blackfalds Iron Ridge Secondary Campus, and offer after-school and PD Day programs, summer camps, and a family counseling program.
A bus will be available to pick up youth from Iron Ridge Elementary and Iron Ridge Intermediate campus and take them to the after-school programs.

The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame (ASHF) has appointed new members to the Board of Directors following the Annual General Meeting.
The board is welcoming Kelly Blackshaw, Al Lucas, Kerry Moynihan, and Stephen Ohene-Adjei.
Temporary closure at Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care tomorrow
Due to a gap in physician coverage, the Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (SLAACS) will be temporarily closed tomorrow (July 5) from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and won't reopen until 10 p.m.
Patients can access medical care for urgent health concerns from facilities in nearby communities, including Red Deer and Rocky Mountain House.
