Indian prime minister condemns violence at Hindu temple in Ontario
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is condemning violence that erupted Sunday when Indian consular officials visited a Hindu temple in Brampton, Ont., as police announced three people have been charged in the clash.
Visits by Indian officials to the temple in Brampton and another in Surrey, B.C., were met with protests from demonstrators seeking a separate Sikh nation called Khalistan.
Water 2.0: anti-coal meeting in Nanton on Tuesday night
Water 2.0 is set for Tuesday, November 5th in Nanton at the Community Hall.
The group is meeting to oppose the threat of open-pit coal mining on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.
Bill Trafford, a 2021 coal policy committee member, is one of the five distinguished guest speakers who will be attending.

Highwood SV Girls Volleyball win nail-biter in best-of-five against HCC
The Highwood Mustangs Senior Girls Volleyball team came out on top of their first playoff game against Holy Cross Collegiate Hawks (HCC) on Wednesday (Oct. 30) with a 3-2 set win in their best-of-five set series.
The Mustangs and Hawks were evenly matched as Highwood finished fourth in the season and Holy Cross finished fifth. With the win, the Mustangs will advance to the next round.
Some mule deer will be wearing collars to help keep an eye on their population
Mule deer in Southern Alberta are going to be wearing a new collar, and it isn’t for fashion reasons.
The Alberta Professional Outfitters Society (APOS) announced last week that they are beginning their Alberta Mule Deer Collaring Project this winter.
As part of this multi-year project, they will capture, collar, and release 100 mule deer in southeast and southwest Alberta to help gather information on how to support mule deer management in the province.
This project is based off a similar project that occurred in Utah in 2014.

I have volunteered with them in the past for a few events, but this year I truly got to see how this wonderful group of people and their volunteers are so passionate about the town of High River.
'The best that we can be': Indigenous judge and TRC chair Murray Sinclair dies at 73
Murray Sinclair, who was born when Indigenous people did not yet have the right to vote, grew up to become one of the most decorated and influential people to work in Indigenous justice and advocacy.
A former judge and senator, one of Sinclair's biggest roles was chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission into residential schools.
He died Monday morning in a Winnipeg hospital, said his son Niigaan Sinclair. He was 73.
Sinclair was a father of five and a grandfather.

Darrel Janz, longtime Newscaster passes away at 83
Darrell Janz, a longtime and well-respected Newscaster passed away at the age of 83 over the weekend.
Janz was fondly remembered by many as the face and voice of News on CTV Calgary and many in the industry were taught by him.
The news juggernaut also never officially retired as he was most recently seen on YES TV.
He taught journalism for over 25 years between SAIT and Mount Royal College, now University.
Janz got his start at our founding radio station 950 CFAM in Altona, Manitoba.
Downhill ski season has arrived
Downhill skiers rejoice, Lake Louise ski resort is ready to open Tuesday, November 5.
Not all the runs are ready yet though, mainly the lower mountain runs like Bald Eagle and Easy Street.
They have gotten over 10 inches of snow already and they have been making snow now for over two weeks.
Sunshine Village in Banff is set to open November 8th, weather pending and Mt. Norquay will open November 9th.
Castle Mountain isn't expected to open until December 6th.
