Fifty years after what has been described as the biggest art heist in Canadian history, the thieves’ identity remains a mystery, and nobody is keen to talk about it.

$100 million to support province's arts, culture, and sports sectors

The Government of Manitoba says it is excited to further develop and enrich the arts, culture and sports areas in our province by opening the first intake of $34 million this year.

On August 16, Minister of Sport, Culture and Heritage, Andrew Smith announced that applications are open for the new Arts, Culture and Sport in Community (ACSC) fund.

Two art heists, 50 years apart: expert says Canada is a 'soft target'

It’s not clear how they did it: was it a clandestine operation, carried out under the cloak of darkness? An elaborate ruse, designed to fool onlookers? Or something else?

However it happened, it’s clear those who stole a world-famous portrait of Sir Winston Churchill from the Château Laurier planned the heist meticulously.

Filipino festival lighting up Winnipeg with food, art, music and dance

The three-day Kultivation Festival will be bringing the whole community of Filipinos together this weekend. 

"In 2020 we were going to do the festival in one central location," says Allan Pineda, the Executive Director of Kultivation Festival. "We had a couple of years to think about it and now we're doing it with a whole bunch of satellite events at different places so Filipino businesses and people can get more exposure with more spaces, events, and venues."
