This weekend, Tick Tock – no, not the app, but the directorial duo – presents their second offering to Winnipeg audiences.

Bringing together a diverse and vibrant group of artists, “Beyond the Accident” of time marks the solemn centenary of a black mark in the country’s history.  

The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra is set to get some fresh air during two upcoming outdoor summer concerts in the next few days.

Last month The Universal Music Group released the latest CD by American cello virtuoso Bion Tsang. Titled “Cantabile” this latest CD features two of the most important works for the cello and orchestra, Schumann’s  A Minor Cello Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations. Joining Tsang on the recording is the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, which is led by conductor and Violinist Scott Yoo.

The Little Opera Company presents The Magic Flute: The Trials of Tamino and Pamina – an adaptation of the ever-popular Mozart opera done by Canadian John Greer.  

“The thing about this production that I love is that it takes this beautiful story and this beautiful opera – because it’s really spectacular music – and puts it into this little package that’s totally engaging from start to finish,” says director Rob Herriot.

The Manitoba Chamber Orchestra is pleased to announce Sean McManus as its new Executive Director. 

After four seasons with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, RBC Assistant Conductor Naomi Woo is set to leave and take on new musical challenges and opportunities elsewhere. 

“Inspirational” is how Woo describes her time in the city.  

The Manitoba Chamber Orchestra wraps up their 50th anniversary season with a concert-staging of Handel’s opera Alcina. MCO Music Director Anne Manson in collaboration with Geneviève Pelletier, artistic and executive director of Théâtre Cercle Molière, transport audiences to an enchanted isle where the sorceress Alcina has spellbound the knight Ruggiero.
