Killarney-Turtle Mountain Fire Department has answered the call for help to fight the wildfires in Northern Manitoba.

Kyle Neufeld, has been in Flin Flon since Saturday morning helping to battle the fire there. Yesterday morning another two members, Brennan Heide and Peter Irving, flew into Pukatawagan to assist with the firefight there, along with Deloraine Fire Department members.

The music festival is on July 11 and 12 at the Exhibition Lands Racetrack, featuring Def Leppard, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Weezer, Stone Temple Pilots, and more.

The Estevan Early Years Family Resource Centre (EEYFRC) is gearing up for its annual Kickoff to Summer celebration — and this year’s edition promises to be the biggest yet. Taking place on Wednesday, June 26 from 4:30 to 7:00 PM, the outdoor event offers a fun, family-friendly way to mark the last day of school, while also supporting local charities.

The celebration includes longtime favourites like bouncy castles, face painting, and a petting zoo — but 2025 brings a new feature that’s sure to grab kids’ attention: a Touch-a-Truck zone with 15 unique vehicles already confirmed.

A Winnipeg charity is dedicated to helping men after they come out of the correctional system to show them there is hope after prison.

"Future Hope is a non-profit, charity organization, and we've been around for 24 years now," says Next Step Coordinator at Future Hope, Kim McIntyre-Leighton. "Our main reason for existence is to help men who are leaving the federal correctional system, and helping them reintegrate into the community after being incarcerated."

The annual Teddy Bear Picnic is back in Winkler on Saturday, June 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering a unique, free event for families at Winkler Park (by the pool). Hosted by the Winkler Family Resource Centre, the event is open to children of all ages — and their beloved stuffed animals.
