It's PBR week in Kindersley!

With the success of last year's Energy Dodge Dakota Buttar Invitational, the event was boosted up to a two-night show in 2025, along with being made the biggest purse on the PBR Canada Touring Pro Division calendar this season.

On Thursday, Country 104 morning show host Nick Cooper had Buttar, and event promotor Pete Gebraad on the air to give one final hype up before things start Friday night and continue into Saturday.

Community spirit will be on full display this Thursday, September 11, as Olymel hosts its annual Giving Back Together barbecue fundraiser in support of the Humboldt and District Food Bank. The event will take place in the Olymel parking lot on Highway 5 east from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. 

In every life a little rain must fall ... and wind ... and chill ... and just about anything else nature can concoct to put this year’s harvest in park for a day or two. 

The miserable weather on Thursday didn’t dampen the spirits of Bruce Elke and his farming friends and family on Thursday, especially followed by a Meal in the Field delivery from Bolt FM and Discover Humboldt.  

Sunny is a 2- to 3-year-old spayed female Labrador mix. She’s a fun-loving dog with a sweet nature who’s eager for a fresh start. Sunny has spent much of her life in an apartment without enough exercise, so she’ll thrive in a home where she can run, play and learn the basics. With regular walks, consistent training and plenty of attention, Sunny will make a loyal companion for an active household.

The Om Yoga Festival is set to take over Rotary Park-Woodlawn Regional Park in Estevan this weekend with a full lineup of activities, workshops, and community connections.

While that high heat has left, this weekend will still be quite warm.

With a high of 19 on Saturday and a high of 20 on Sunday, the weekend will be perfect to get out of the home.

Friday, September 5:

The NextAcre Real Estate Grain Rush is back for harvest season 2025, and the latest stop brought Discover Estevan, Sun 102, Country 106.1, and CJ1150 out to Benson to meet with Honan Farms.

Tristan from Honan Farms said the crew is about a third of the way through harvest, with peas and durum wrapped up. “It would be nice to have a warm meal in the combine right about now,” he shared, adding that the durum crop was a bit of a challenge this year because of weeds and wet conditions.
