The Weyburn Beavers came up on the losing end of a high-scoring affair Friday night at Tom Laing Park, dropping a 13–6 decision to the visiting Moose Jaw Miller Express.

Despite a solid offensive effort from Weyburn, including a two-hit, two-run night from Ryan Muizelaar and a pair of RBIs from Luke Malzewski, the Beavers couldn’t keep pace with a relentless Moose Jaw lineup that tallied 14 hits and broke the game open with a six-run sixth inning.

Saskatoon takes both games in doubleheader against Beavers

The Weyburn Beavers entertained the Saskatoon Berries for a doubleheader Monday night. The first game of the day was a make-up game, after a thunderstorm cancelled Sunday’s game at Tom Laing Park. The second game was the Red Wings Appreciation Game, during which the Beavers wore special jerseys that paid homage to the storied SJHL franchise.

The Berries, though, would be the ones coming out on top. The first game was a 9-2 win, and the nightcap saw Saskatoon win 14-2.

Errors would be the key factor for the Weyburn Beavers Tuesday night. Two in the second inning would be crucial for the Medicine Hat Mavericks, as they capitalized on every mistake en route to a 19-6 win over the visiting Beavers.
