Province takes proactive measures to enhance AIS prevention programs across Manitoba
During Invasive Species Awareness Week in Manitoba, Environment and Climate Change Minister Mike Moyes announced that the Manitoba government is allocating an additional $540,000 to combat the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS).

Portage la Prairie’s Community Safety Officers (CSOs) are rolling out electric bikes to enhance visibility and response times in parks, alleys, and hard-to-reach areas. Community Safety Office Manager Caitlyn Saindon says the e-bikes supplement their fully equipped patrol vehicle, which now features lights and sirens.

Jets pull off miracle comeback in Game 7, win in double OT

In shocking decision, Aces voted out of SEMHL
Ste. Anne Sr. Aces leadership are calling it "a baffling, head scratching and extremely disappointing decision", as after a league meeting Sunday morning, the original 6 SEMHL teams have voted the Aces out of the SEMHL entirely.
The Aces are coming off their third consecutive SEMHL Championship and defeated the Killarney Shamrocks to claim the 2024/25 provincial title.

Portage’s Republic Park ready for Spring sports season
With warmer weather arriving and local sports teams gearing up, the Portage Regional Recreation Authority (PRRA) says Republic Park is ready for action.
"We've had our contractor, Go Green, out there working hard to get everything cleaned up and prepped," said Angie Shindle, general manager of the PRRA.
"Most soccer and baseball teams will start practices next week, with a few already taking advantage of the great weather this weekend."
