A congregation in Texas is mourning the loss of Pastor Jason Owens, a long-serving and deeply respected spiritual leader.

In an official statement posted to the church’s Facebook page on Thursday, church leaders shared the news "with an extremely heavy heart," describing Owens as "a cherished friend and a vital part of our church family."

On June 5, more than 30 radio stations across the province joined forces for the first-ever Manitoba Day of Caring for Wildfire Evacuees, a province-wide broadcast initiative to support those displaced by wildfires.

Environment Canada warns of possible landspout tornadoes

A special weather statement has been issued for a broad swath of southern Manitoba, warning of conditions favourable for the development of funnel clouds on Sunday.

The alert applies to multiple regions, including Winnipeg, Portage la Prairie, Morden-Winkler, Steinbach, Selkirk-Gimli, and communities stretching east to the Whiteshell and north to Fisher River and Hecla.

More than 100 members of the CHVN family braved the rain to gather at Blue Cross Park Saturday night for Faith Night with the Winnipeg Goldeyes.

For the second year in a row, the weather brought a downpour and another game delay. But that didn’t dampen the spirits of CHVN listeners, who took the chance to enjoy some extended fellowship on the concourse while waiting for the game to start.

Held on Thursday, June 5, the unprecedented collaboration mobilized listeners from Brandon to Steinbach, Thompson to Winkler, and nearly everywhere in between. By the end of the broadcast day, donations had reached $306,073.26 — an incredible show of care and compassion from Manitobans.
