Steinbach Bible College will be moving to a new campus in 2026.  

The announcement was made Thursday morning in a joint statement from both the Steinbach Bible College and Steinbach Christian School. The two organizations currently share a building but the Christian school recently acquired all of SBC’s properties. 

SBC President Dave Reimer says they already have their new home picked out.

 woman narrowly escaped her basement suite in Steinbach early Sunday morning as the house burned around her.  

According to Fire Chief Kel Toews, his crews were called to a house fire at the corner of Elm Avenue and Elmdale Street in Steinbach around 1 AM on Sunday.  

Chantal Delfosse, who lived in a basement suite in the home, says she went to bed around 11:30 and woke up to use the washroom shortly before 1.  

With Tuesday's eye-opening news that seven individuals were arrested in Portage la Prairie following a child exploitation and human trafficking investigation, Manitobans are being encouraged to be vigilant.

The mother of the little girl who was rescued by the Tache Fire Department after getting stuck in a play structure, says she could not be more thankful. 

The girl got herself wedged into a thick plastic drum component of a play structure at a Lorette school last weekend. The fire department had to cut the play structure to get her out. 

The girl's mother, Keanna Deslaurier, recounts the situation. 

Now that we are consistently seeing above-zero daytime highs and freezing temperatures at night, the maple harvest has begun.  

Rolly Gagne is the President of the St. Pierre Museum. He says his team usually taps around 300 trees in the community and they began that process Wednesday afternoon. 

This past Tuesday was Safer Internet Day, and the RCMP were encouraging parents to check on their children's internet activity more often.

A meteorologist from Environment Canada says there is a good chance we will set a new temperature record today. The forecasted high is a whopping 10 degrees. 

The Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba has outlined its new leadership structure following the selection of Wayne Ewasko as its interim leader on January 18th. 

Just over a week into the PWHL season, Ste. Anne's Jocelyne Larocque says she's still smiling ear to ear.  

Toronto selected Larocque second overall in the Professional Women's Hockey League draft back in September. Unfortunately, they lost the first game of the season to New York on Monday, January 1st, but they then regrouped and to beat New York this past Friday. 

Larocque says the first week of play has been a blast.
