Siemens' 'Sunday Hymn Serenade-Bring Back the Hymns' YouTube show receives first award nomination

Rosemary Siemens and her husband Eli Bennett have received a Leo Award nomination for their "Sunday Hymn Serenade - Bring Back the Hymns" YouTube show. The awards celebrate excellence in British Columbia’s film and television industry, with the couple receiving a nod in the Best Music, Comedy or Variety Program or Series. 

Manitoba Day of Caring: Radio stations rally support for wildfire evacuees

Today, June 5, is Manitoba Day of Caring for Wildfire Evacuees, with broadcasters across the province joining together to support those displaced and evacuated due to the fires raging across parts of Manitoba.

As wildfires continue to threaten communities, Classic 107 will be giving Manitobans the opportunity to show their care and concern.

Dr. John Neufeld celebrating ten years with Back to the Bible Canada

It's been ten years since Dr. John Neufeld joined Back to the Bible Canada as the organization’s Bible teacher. This coming Saturday night, in celebration of the anniversary, the ministry will be hosting a special celebratory event at Winkler EMMC.

Neufeld says he now "sees God" in the opportunity to join the group ten years ago, but at the time it felt accidental. When the call came, he was teaching at a Bible college in Germany while taking a break after 35 years of pastoral ministry.

Portion of Rosenort's Pleasant Valley Road collapses into river

The R.M. of Morris is advising Rosenort residents to stay away from a portion of Pleasant Valley Road between the dike and River Road South now that a portion of the road has collapsed into the river. 

The impacted section of Road 30 NE was first closed on Friday, and the river has continued to wash out the ground underneath the low level crossing. According to a social media post by the Municipality, the section of road is completely impassable and taking an alternative route is required.

Provincial Offence Notice issued after semis collide north of Emerson

There were no injuries reported after a collision Wednesday afternoon involving two semis at the corner of southbound Highway 75 and Provincial Road 243, just north of the U.S. border crossing, in the Municipality of Emerson-Franklin.

According to RCMP, officers from the Emerson detachment arrived at the scene around 4:30pm.

RCMP respond to bus rollover near Ste. Agathe

At approximately 3:15pm Monday afternoon Niverville and St. Pierre Jolys RCMP officers responded to a school bus that had rolled on Highway 75 near Ste. Agathe.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred on the northbound lanes side of Highway 75 on the south end of Ste. Agathe. In addition to RCMP, other emergency responders were also on scene.

Two additional measles cases identified in Southern Health-Santé Sud

Manitoba Health has announced two new confirmed cases of measles in the Southern Health-Santé Sud region with recent international travel to Mexico.

In a news release issued Wednesday evening, it was also announced the individuals both attended Southwood School in Schanzenfeld in the Garden Valley School Division during the infectious period.

U.S. based Mighty Oaks Foundation brings faith-based leadership sessions to Canada for first time

The U.S. based Mighty Oaks Foundation brought its faith-based leadership programming to Canada for the first time over the weekend, with men's focused events in Altona and Gretna. Retired Marine Commander Jeremy Stalnecker and Retired Navy SEAL Senior Chief Luis Rivera led the sessions for the non-profit dedicated to helping veterans, first responders and spouses recover from PTSD.
