Hot weekend in store for Canada Day celebrations

Environment Canada is calling for a hot and dry Canada Day in southern Manitoba. In fact, Samantha Mauti says that should be the flavour of the next couple of days.

Mauti says with those temperatures there is a chance that Environment Canada could issue a heat warning. For that to happen, she says it usually takes a daytime high of at least 32 degrees with an overnight low of at least 16 degrees. A humidex of 38 degrees can also prompt a warning.

"The last two weeks with midnight sittings just I think really took a toll on all MPs," suggests Falk. "And I think by the time we wrapped up very early Thursday morning, MPs were ready to go home."
