Local artists and work highlighted at Gallery's Members Show and Sale
A fall tradition is back at the Humboldt and District Gallery with the return of the Gallery Members’ Show and Sale. The sale opened on October 1 and it will run until November 1.
The show is a demonstration of the incredible talents of Humboldt and District Gallery Members. There are 43 artists participating, and 100 pieces of artwork displayed in a wide variety of mediums including painting, photography, ceramics, quilting, and mixed media works. Each piece in the exhibit is for sale.
Road Closure- 300 block of 9th Street Oct.2-4
Beginning today, a section of 9th street will be closed off for a couple days.
The 300 block of 9th street will be closed for repairs.
The closure is needed to address a leak on a residential water service and to facilitate two lead service replacements.
Work is expected to last until Friday.

Louise Bernice Halfe joins Humboldt's Truth and Reconciliation Walk
Humboldt’s annual Truth and Reconciliation Walk, cohosted by the Westminster Affirm Team and Humboldt Department of Cultural Service took place on September 29. The walkers, all adorned in orange shirts, gathered under the mural at City Hall to make the trek north to a gathering at the Westminster United Church Hall.
Special guest at the walk this year was poet Louise Bernice Halfe, also known by her Cree name, Sky Walker.
Another chart topper at the Pilger Pumpkin Festival
It was yet another record-breaking year at the Pilger Pumpkin Festival as the skid steer strained to get this year’s chart topper on the scale.
The annual festival was back bigger and better than ever on Saturday, September 28. The kids' section was greatly expanded this year including large scale games, the ever-popular bouncy castles, face painting and tattoo artistry thanks to Humboldt Ink.
Sask Power planned outage for rurals near Watson
SaskPower announces a planned power outage for rural customers east and northeast of Watson.
The outage is scheduled for today, October 1, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The outage is to accommodate system maintenance. SaskPower thanks customers for their understanding.
Weekend Update: Pilger Pumpkin Festival primed for this Saturday
The Great Pumpkin decrees it every year at this time.
Saturday, September 28, it’s time to head out to the Pilger Pumpkin Festival in the warm and inviting village of Pilger.
The big pumpkin weigh in starts at 2 pm at the Pilger Community Hall, so load up the trailers and flatbeds with your best pumpkin produce.
That 2 pm deadline also applies to all judged goods like pumpkin carvings and those delicious pumpkin pies.
Crop Report (Sept, 17 - 23) - Dry weather following a stretch of rain helping with harvest completion
With a week of sunshine and hot temperatures through much of the province, harvest is back on track. However, the rains that preceded the latest summer stretch delayed harvesting, the Ag Ministry outlines in its latest crop report for the period from September 17 to 23.

Cross country pre-district results in HCAA competition
The results are in for the HCAA pre-district cross country meets held yesterday, October 25, at the Carlton Trail Ski Club at Dixon and the Wynyard Golf Course.
In the Dixon meet, the St. Brieux school team came out on top with the low score of 9 points, while HCI and Muenster tied for second with 10.
Meanwhile results from the Wynyard meet had Wynyard Comp on top with 5 points, Strasbourg in second with 8 and Lanigan Elementary in third with 9.
