YIR - Humboldt and District Community Services reflects on a year of growth and community impact

Humboldt and District Community Services (HDCS) has had an impactful year in 2024, continuing its mission to ensure that all individuals have meaningful connections to their community. With the support of 26 dedicated staff members and 8 board members, the organization delivered 10 vital programs, making a tangible difference in the lives of many residents across Humboldt. 

Juanine Korte, Director of HDCS, highlighted the organization's growth and commitment to providing inclusive support to the community.  

YIR - Carlton Trail College celebrates 50th Anniversary with vision for the future

Carlton Trail College is celebrating a monumental milestone this year as it marks its 50th anniversary. The event has been a chance to reflect on the college’s significant growth and contributions to the region, with President and CEO Amy Yeager noting the importance of commemorating this landmark occasion. 

"Our 50th anniversary was a landmark opportunity for us to highlight the many things that we've done over the last 50 years," Yeager said. "It was a time to reflect on the past but also look forward to the future." 

YIR - St. Peter's College reflects on a year of engagement, student support, and community building

St. Peter's College has had a year filled with memorable events aimed at enhancing the student experience, supporting prospective learners, and fostering a strong sense of community. According to Jordan Keller, Student Services Officer, the year began with a series of welcoming events for both new and prospective students.

The survey, which highlights financial trends and concerns, shows that rising costs for household goods and high interest rates remain the most pressing issues for many Canadians. 

"Vicissitude" and silk screening workshop kick off new year of programming at the Gallery

The Humboldt and District Gallery launches into the new year with a tandem set of events on Saturday, January 4, centred around the work on Monique Martin.

Vicissitude Opening & Talk:

Vicissitude by Monique Martin and Alexandra Hedberg is heading to the Humboldt & District Gallery to start the New Year. This captivating art installation features thousands of silkscreened, highly realistic butterflies clustered on branches suspended from the ceiling, as well as a stunning floor piece that can be walked on in sock feet.
