The Western Canadian Baseball League released the schedule for the 2024 season this week.
The Weyburn Beavers will open the season at home on May 24th, when they host the Moose Jaw Miller Express at Tom Laing Park. They follow up the home and season opener the next night and close out the opening weekend with a game against the 57s in Swift Current on May 26th.
The newest team in the WCBL, the Saskatoon Berries, will make their first appearance in Weyburn on May 31st. Weyburn doesn’t play a game in Saskatoon until June 16th.
The annual Alberta road swing will start on June 25th and will see the Beavers travel to Edmonton for a game, then head for two games in Fort McMurray, back to Edmonton for a game, then two in Sylvan Lake, before closing out the trip in Medicine Hat on Canada Day.
The WCBL All-Star Game will be played in Okotoks again this year on July 20th.
The regular season for the Beavers will wrap up with a home-and-home series against the Regina Red Sox on August 4th and 5th, with the last game being played in Weyburn. The post-season will then start on August 7th, with the entire season being finished by August 17th.
