A 29-year-old man is facing multiple trafficking charges after a gun complaint on Sandy Bay First Nation.
On November 17, shortly after 6:00 p.m., Manitoba First Nation Police Service (MFNPS) responded to a residence on Little Ridge Road North to investigate a man armed with a shotgun.
According to the officers, they launched a drone and drove to the house after arriving at the location. However, upon their arrival, four individuals immediately fled. The officers chased them and managed to apprehend one of the suspects, who was already known to them.
Upon searching the suspect, they found methamphetamine, cocaine, and cash, but they did not find any shotgun.
Austin Houle, 29-years-old, from Sandy Bay First Nation, has been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance - Cocaine Possession of proceeds of crime - under $5000
- Failing to comply with Release Order condition
- Outstanding Warrant: Failing to attend court in relation to 25 pending charges
- Outstanding Warrant: Flight from Police & Forcible Confinement
- Outstanding Warrant: Failing to comply with Release Order
Houle was remanded into custody for a court appearance in Portage la Prairie this past Monday.
