Last weekend brought with it an early start for the MacGregor Fire Department.
At 6:40 A.M. this past Saturday, firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on #1 Hwy. Fire Chief Chris Leckie says the accident was a single-vehicle rollover into a ditch off Highway 1.
"There were no injuries, and it's under investigation by the RCMP. We had approximately 12 firefighters attend that one," explains the Fire Chief.
Leckie says while the case is under investigation still, it looks like the vehicle lost control before entering the median.
"The roads were good, and everything was fine. So it was early in the morning, and we're not sure if it was driver fatigue or what."
Leckie adds that his crew members were happy to assist, even though some of them had a much earlier start to the day than usual.
"It was a quick way to wake up in the morning, but it's all good," laughs Leckie
