On November 7, 2023, at about 10:25 p.m., an RCMP officer observed a vehicle known to be associated with two wanted men in relation to a recent shooting in Brandon, driving on Main Street South in Dauphin.
The officer caught up with the vehicle when it stopped at a gas station. The man who drove the vehicle was seen leaving the business. He was told that he was under arrest and taken into custody. The officer noticed the passenger in the vehicle slide into the driver’s seat and put the vehicle in drive. At that time, a second police vehicle arrived and boxed in the suspect vehicle.
The suspect vehicle stopped, and the second man was placed in custody.
One of the suspects was found to have a firearm magazine.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of two firearms, ammunition, cash, weapons, and about 250 grams of suspected cocaine.
Tyler Guiboche, 34, and Joshua Chartrand, 27, both from Dauphin, have been charged with numerous drug and firearms charges, including:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking,
- Two counts of Possession of a Firearm with a Tampered Serial Number,
