With 5 games before Christmas, all on the road, the Portage Terriers headed northwest to Waywayseecapo Tuesday night and skated away with a 5-3 victory.

The Wolverines would strike first in the match but Daniel Siso would score his seventh of the season on the power play with just over 5 minutes to go in the opening frame and the game was tied after 20 minutes. The Wolverines would again open the scoring in the second frame but this time they would take a 3-2 lead into the second intermission meaning the comeback would have to be on to ensure a Terrier win.

Parker Scherr would tie the game just 30 seconds into the final frame and then Grant Dardis would score the game-winner with an unassisted marker with just under 8 minutes to go. Nolan Nenow added an empty netter with just seconds to go in the game.

The Wolverines outshot the Dogs 32-23 and Jayden Catellier was strong in goal picking up his 12th win of the season. Only 5 penalties were called in the entire game and Portage went 1 for 2 with the man advantage while successfully killing off the 3 penalties they were handed.

With the victory, the Terriers have 19-7-3-2 record which is good for second spot in the East Division. Next up for the team is two games in Winnipeg, they will play the Freeze on Thursday night and the Blues on Friday before returning home to take part in the breakfast and skate with Santa event at Stride Place. The club has two more road games next week before a Christmas break that will last for just over two weeks.

There is a roster freeze in the MJHL right now for the holiday season meaning no trades will be allowed until after Christmas.
