Manitoba First Nations Police Service officers on Long Plain First Nation responded to a firearm discharge incident in the 100 block of Yellowquill Trail South on Wednesday.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on December 13, officers arrived on the scene and observed a vehicle that had been shot. Residents advised police that a man who had attended to a house in the area got into an argument with an occupant of the house before stealing from said house and shooting at a vehicle numerous times on the way out. Police say that no one was hurt during this incident. 

A warrant for arrest has been issued for Marcel Blair Peters, 33 years of age, for the following offences: 

  • Reckless discharge of a firearm 
  • Pointing a firearm x 2 
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle 
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm 
  • Possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized 
  • Weapons possession contrary to an order 
  • Robbery with a firearm   

Peters is described as 5'8" and 160 Ibs with black hair. He is known to frequent Portage la Prairie and Long Plain First Nation. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
