Two Fillmore residents are facing charges after a vehicle that was stolen from Weyburn was located with a firearm.

The Weyburn RCMP investigated the report of the stolen vehicle, which allegedly happened between December 4 and 22.

Police found the vehicle at a residence in Fillmore, which contained a firearm.

35-year-old Curtis Armstrong and 32-year-old Cherrena Bryer were arrested at the scene and charged with the following offences:

  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code;
  • one count, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code; and
  • one count, unauthorized possession of a firearm, Section 92(1), Criminal Code.

Armstrong was also charged with one count of possession of a firearm while prohibited and two counts of breaching a probation order.

They are both scheduled to appear in Weyburn Provincial Court on February 13.
