Eve Justine Wickstrom of Wahpeton, ND and Battle Lake, MN, and formerly of Fergus Falls, MN, Chaska, MN, St. Louis, MO and Winnipeg, MB, passed away on December 11, 2023 at home surrounded by her family after a difficult 4 and a half year battle with a debilitating and rare cancer.
Eve was born on April 10, 2003 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Cora WarkentinWickstrom and Kurt Wickstrom. She was born with her eyes wide open and full of energy, and that was how she lived her life.
Eve’s health issues caused many challenges for her, yet she faced them bravely and with much grace. She began her chemical engineering program at UND, but was only able to attend for a short period of time. She loved math, so much so, that if she had trouble sleeping at night, she would do calculus to calm herself down.
Eve had an extremely strong sense of faith, and was very kind and caring, and always thinking of others. She loved little children, and enjoyed supporting and contributing to her favorite charity, Feed My Starving Children. Eve was fiercely loyal to the Winnipeg Jets, her friends and family, and especially her sister Elizabeth. Eve enjoyed playing the violin, baking, crocheting, lake time in the boat, wake surfing, spending time with family, time with the dogs and especially her miniature poodle Adam, downhill skiing, and pheasant hunting.
Her love, caring for others and grace touched many, many people, including family, friends, medical personnel and caregivers.
Eve was predeceased by her maternal Grandmother, Sigrid Warkentin, Swift Current, SK.
Eve is survived by her parents, Cora Warkentin Wickstrom and Kurt Wickstrom, Wahpeton, ND, sister Elizabeth Wickstrom, Wahpeton, ND, grandparents Arnold and Barbara Wickstrom, Maple Creek, SK, and Ken and Anita Warkentin, Saskatoon, SK, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service for Eve will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Swift Current at the Zion Mennonite Church, 78 6 Ave NE.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Eve Wickstrom Memorial Fund to support charities such as Feed My Starving Children, are greatly appreciated. Donations can be sent to Ahlgren Law Office, Fergus Falls, MN, care of Sarah Duffy.
