PHYLLIS RUTH SOMMERFELD 1939 – 2025

Phyllis Ruth Sommerfeld, late of Moose Jaw, SK passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.  She was predeceased by her parents Alex and Mary Fries, and her brothers Arnold and Lawrence Fries.  Phyllis is lovingly remembered by her husband Elmer, and daughters: Kathy (Frank) Ponto of Colinton, AB; Karla Sommerfeld (Rod Gilmour) of Moose Jaw, SK; and Sue (Russell) Turner of Edmonton, AB.  She was known to many relatives and long-time friends simply as Auntie Phyllis and she was much loved.

The Funeral Service for the late Karen Dickie will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Christ Redeemer Roman Catholic Parish in Swift Current with Deacon David Hagel officiating.

**The service is being recorded and will be posted on the funeral home website as soon as possible.

A Private Family Interment Service for Mrs. Dickie will take place from the Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK at a later date.

In memory of Karen, donations made to the Swift Current SPCA would be appreciated by the family.

Eleanor Bergen nee Preston, 90, of Altona passed away Sunday, March 23rd at Altona Memorial Health Centre. She is survived by her husband Harvey, 2 sons, 1 sister, 2 brothers, and their families. She was predeceased by 1 son, 1 sister, and 1 brother. 
The funeral service for Eleanor Bergen nee Preston will be held Tuesday, April 1st at 2pm at Altona United Church with burial at Altona Cemetery. 

William Fairbairn Carmichael

On March 21, 2025, surrounded by loving family in the Grace Hospital, William Fairbairn Carmichael, 78, died after a hard fought battle with Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy.  Although his mind was intact, his body diminished leaving him with limited speech and mobility. He is survived and deeply mourned by his wife Lynn (nee Johnston) of fifty-six years; sons Bryan (Karen), Chris (Natasha), daughters Jocelyn and Riley; grandchildren Matthew , Logan, Gibson, Georgia and Charley; brothers Bob (Carol Anne) and Doug (Shelley), and sisters Jody (Andy) and Jane (Darcy), sister-in-law El

Dennis Stark

The families and friends of Dennis Stark are profoundly saddened to announce his passing March 6, 2025 at Pioneer Lodge in Moose Jaw, SK. Dennis was born Dec. 5, 1965 in Assiniboia, SK and grew up in Mossbank, SK, all of his life.  From an early age, Dennis was nicknamed “Dennis The Menace”. Dennis was later nicknamed “Baker” when working at the Noodle Plant. Dennis also worked at the Mossbank Rink, working for the RM, Fire Chief from 2003-2008, and was involved in the Kinsmen as President for 10 years. Dennis and Crystal moved to the farm 2008 and loved many Cats and Dogs.

It is with deep sadness and shattered hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, James, “Jim” Mantei on March 22, 2025 at the age of 73 years.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Alma and Art Mantei; brother, Paul Mantei; and in-laws, Peter and Ernestine Kaufmann.
