Oakbank RCMP continue to investigate a crash that happened in early December on the Trans Canada Highway in the Rural Municipality of Springfield.
On December 4th at 6:35 am, officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash. The collision happened at the intersection of Settlers Road, which is about one mile east of Deacon's Corner.
According to police, that crash changed the life of a 54-year-old male driver who suffered significant life-altering injuries. The victim has now been in hospital for 38 days.
Shortly after the crash, officers arrived on scene and located a single vehicle with extensive damage to the passenger side.
Police say the crash happened in the westbound lanes. Officers believe that the second vehicle involved may have been a semi-trailer or a very large truck. The second vehicle did not stay at the scene.
According to RCMP, road conditions at the time of the collision were very icy and there was heavy fog in the area.
