On January 29, 2024, Thomas Arthur Kell passed away peacefully with family by his side.

Arthur was born on November 21, 1940 to George and Jessie Kell and raised in Moose Jaw.

In 1962 he travelled to the US to attended auctioneering school in Mason City, IA. Four years later he began his own business, Art Kell Auction and soon moved to the Russell Block, a building on the corner of River Street and 1st Avenue.  Art Kell Auction would reside there for much of his career.  He was an active member of the Cosmopolitan and Kinsmen Clubs.

He married his first love Gayle (Spice) on March 5, 1966 and they raised three sons. Art was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching the boys in wrestling and little league baseball. He was a dedicated father and his old van aka “the super van” made many trips throughout Canada and parts of the United States.  He was very proud of his boys and enjoyed reliving their glory days.

Upon retirement in 2004, Art bought a motorhome so that he and Gayle could begin to travel. They eventually bought a trailer in Mesa, Arizona where they enjoyed many winters together. In the summer, he took great pride in maintaining his pool and yard. Art enjoyed teaching his kids and grandkids how to swim and dive in the backyard. He had a passion for cooking and was always excited to share recipes and barbequing tips.

While retired Chic Wray invited him to join the Grumpy Old Men, they met in Wakamow for morning walks and then enjoyed a coffee at the Burger Cabin. In winters they moved to A&W.  Art cherished the friendships he made and enjoyed many laughs, story sharing, and golf at Deer Ridge. This was often the highlight of his day.
