Businesses across Winnipeg aiming to find candidates will have a chance to gain some valuable knowledge later next week.

Homefield People and Strategy will be hosting a lunch & learn session in Winnipeg on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Lunch and networking will cover the first half hour.

Candace Bartel, lead consultant with Homefield People and Strategy, says the bulk of the event will have a learning session focusing on recruitment to help strengthen the local business community.

"Getting the right people on the team is key," she says. "We’ll be looking at different creative ways in which we can do that effectively. We will learn from each other and bring some of the best practices that we have found over the years to get the right people on your team."

The event has been spurred on by local and provincial businesses struggling to fill vacant positions paired by Homefield People and Strategy hoping to build awareness about their services and how they can help.

"It's a very competitive market out there right now in terms of finding people," she says. "Being able to create awareness and be that employer of choice where people want to work for you is always a bit of a challenge."

Join us on February 29 at 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Session will be hosted at Smitty’s Restaurant 580 Pembina HWY Winnipeg.

Businesses interested in attending the session can sign up here.
