Christian artist Tuzee is feeling grateful after recently receiving her first Juno nomination for her album Alive

From Kitchener, Ontario, Tuzee has a lot on her plate as she's a mother to two daughters, a full-time nurse, and released her first full-length album last year.

"There is a song on the album called 'Alive' that sums up the entire album," says Tuzee. "It talks about us being slaves to sin and then Jesus came. Because Jesus came, we can live again. When things are so terrible, we can still have hope, because of Christ."

This album gained Tuzee her first Juno nomination recently.

"I was at work when I got this call (about the nomination)," says Tuzee. "It was very exciting and I couldn't yell because I was at work."

Tuzee is already an award-winning singer as she won the GMA Covenant award for Female Vocalist of the Year in 2023.

"Number one, God is so good. It means a lot that people are gravitating toward what God has put in my heart. I love to sing and to write. God has blessed me in a way that I just want to bless people. I don't feel like I'm better than anyone else but I just feel so grateful."

When it comes to how she balances things in her life with 12-hour nursing shifts in Kitchener, ON, Tuzee shares it goes back to the song she wrote, 'There Must Be a God.'
