KENNEDY

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph “Joe” Kennedy on Sunday, February 4th, 2024,

Joe is survived by his children: Jolina (Danny), Joey (Angela, Kegen, and Cheyenne, and Jay), Scott, and Darren; sister, Anne Hawksworth (Ken); brother-in-law, Ken Clemmensen (Donna); as well as his nieces and nephews.

Joe was born on the 5th of June ’46 in Leeds, England to Annie and Joseph Kennedy.  He moved to Canada in 1977 when he was 31 years old.  In 1989 Joe started working at Valley View Center, where he met so many amazing people.  Everyone who knew him all loved him.  Joe retired for the first time in 2010, only to return a couple of years later.  In June of 2013, Joe had surgery to remove an aneurism.  Two days later, had a heart attack, and 4 days after that he underwent open heart surgery.  He had a pacemaker placed in 2019, and in 2023 his health had taken another turn, and he was in and out of the hospital from August until January of 2024.  He was able to come home for a few days but had to go back to the hospital.  Within a week, Joe’s battle ended when he took his final breath with Jolina, Joey, Danny and other loved ones by his side.

Joe was a free will, fun-loving man who loved to tear up the dance floor and tell stories.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Come and Go Celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at the Days Inn, 1720 Main St N, Moose Jaw, SK from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to come and share their stories of Joe.

Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
